Shrinking (AppleTV+)
A grieving therapist (Jason Segel) starts
to break the rules by telling his clients exactly what
he thinks. Jimmy has lost his wife and wants to try a
new approach to his loss, but it is unclear how this
will help others. The writing is excellent, the story is
fresh and the characters are original without going over
the top into stereotypically too quirky. The
relationships are complex and emotional, and very real
human challenges are well drawn. It can be laugh out
loud funny and in the next minute bring on tears.
Harrison Ford is in his element in this
clever series.
