A Man Called Otto
Based on the comical and moving New York Times bestseller, A Man Called Otto
tells the story of Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks), a grumpy widower
whose only joy comes from criticizing and judging his exasperated neighbors.
When a lively young family moves in next door, he meets his match in quick
witted and very pregnant Marisol, leading to an unexpected friendship that will
turn his world upside down. A warm, uplifting, largely predictable film anchored
by Tom Hanks’ winning central performance.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (Netflix)
Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a
getaway on his private Greek island. When someone turns
up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc is put on the case. Like
the first installment, this was very intriguing,
energetic and mysterious. Throughout the entire movie,
you are trying to find last puzzle piece to complete it
all in your mind. However, unlike the first film, this
was a little predictable and easily foreseeable but
still without ruining all the fun. The pacing of the
story was spot on, immersing you deep into each
character’s backstory where you can see their goals and
malevolent intentions.

The Recruit (Netflix)
A fledgling CIA lawyer (Noah Centineo)
gets caught up in a dangerous game of international
politics when a former asset threatens to expose the
nature of her relationship with the agency unless they
clear her name. Noah Centineo seemed more realistic than
other self assured characters we've seen in movies. His
panic attacks, bumbling his way through work, struggling
and falling on his face are something we all do in our
first few weeks at a new job.
