Off The Record...

Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society

Sonic Brew

Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde is back doing what he does best.  The first single, Bored to Tears, is a Sabbath induced rocker while songs like Spoke in the Wheel and Beneath the Tree are reminiscent of his previous solo efforts which included southern rock and acoustic influences.  Something Wylde calls “Alcohol Fueled Brewtality”, BLS has concocted a lethal mix of straight up, hard-edged music.

At The Movies...

Entrapment

An insurance investigator convinces her bosses that a Master Thief, Mac (Sean Connery), is ripping off their clients, costing their company millions. She goes undercover and convinces Mac to rob a museum with her, but what are her real intentions?  Not relying on vulgarities or body counts, this film is a classy suspense thriller that will keep you enthralled through the entire show.

A playing card company suspended an employee it says printed marked decks that allegedly were used to cheat a casino of hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Blackjack players were able to identify high cards through the slight alteration on the card backs and increase their odds of winning.

A woman who paid $1 for an old book at a Netherlands flea market found etchings inside by Dutch master Rembrandt that sold for $50,000.  The woman bought the book last month in the Dutch city of Utrecht. She found the etchings pressed between the pages along with a third etching by one of Rembrandt's students.
